Editorial Standards
How we research and write our guides, how we handle facts that change, and how to report a mistake.
Accuracy first
Our guides cover topics where mistakes can cost readers money, such as trademarks and business registration. We base factual statements on primary sources wherever possible: the United States Patent and Trademark Office for trademark fees and processes, state government websites for business registration, and the platforms themselves for rules such as username limits.
Fees, limits and rules change. Each guide shows the month it was last updated, and we review guides that contain figures when we learn of changes.
Not legal or financial advice
We explain concepts in plain English, but we are not a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Where a decision depends on your circumstances, we say so and suggest speaking with a qualified professional.
Real examples
Every example name quoted in our guides and generator pages is produced by the generator itself, with the keyword and settings named next to it, so you can reproduce it. We do not present invented examples as the output of the tool, and we do not claim that any generated name is available.
No fake proof
We do not publish invented testimonials, user counts or success statistics.
Partner links
Some links are partner links that may earn us a commission. They are marked, use the rel="sponsored" attribute, and never change what we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
